The Secondary Education Promotion Fund enables secondary school teachers who are in the final stages of their doctoral research to complete a dissertation at the UvA in addition to their daily work. After their PhD, the teachers return to the classroom. This way, they contribute to strengthening the academic content of secondary education. This scholarship was established as a result of the advice LeerKracht!, in which the Rinnooy Kan Committee advised the government on the strengthening of education in the Netherlands.
