Individual travel grant

Students can apply for support for an individual travel grant and (in exceptional cases) a scholarship thanks to the donations from our contributors.

Please note: Because of the large number of applications and a limited annual budget, it has been decided that students cannot apply for a travel grant during the rest of 2024. All applicants with a departure date in September or earlier have been informed about the decision regarding their applications. For 2025 new grant conditions will be formulated, on which communication will follow in the fourth quarter of 2024. If you have any questions, please send an email to subsidieaanvragen-auf@uva.nl.

  • Requirements for the report and photos

    If you received an AUF travel grant, find the guidelines for the report below:

    • purpose of the trip (research, exchange, internship, fieldwork) and the results;
    • academic added value of the trip;
    • difference in academic culture compared to the UvA;
    • to what extent the trip did meet your objectives/expectations;
    • what your follow-up study plans are.

    The report should not exceed two A4 pages or 1,000 words and should include one or more digital photos (not more than five), giving an impression of your stay abroad related to the travel grant you received. At least one photo should show you as the recipient of the travel grant. Please submit the photos as high resolution jpg files (file size between 1 and 3 MB). If we plan to use any of your photos for our website, newsletter or other publications we will ask your permission. Send your report within one month after returning from your stay abroad to subsidieaanvragen-auf@uva.nl. Include your name, mobile number and the grant number.

    Instead of a written report and photos you may also submit a video report of no more than 3 minutes.
